Caroline Klebl Announces a 200 Hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Certification Course
October 6, 2008 -- Caroline Klebl offers a comprehensive Yoga Teacher Training program to teachers, aspiring teachers and dedicated practitioners of yoga. Her teacher training combines the high standards of practice, required by the Ashtanga Vinyasa System with the development of teaching skills necessary to introduce students to Yoga practice correctly and effectively.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a highly effective method of Asana practice, which quickly builds strength, increases flexibility and clears toxins out of the body. This method includes hundreds of Asanas(yoga postures), which are connected by Vinyasa (fluid movements, which are initiated by either the inhaling or exhaling breath). The practice of Asana with Vinyasa stimulates the cardiovascular system and creates heat in the body, which eases the body into the Asanas. The Ashtanga Vinyasa practice removes impurities and strengthens the functions of the body and mind.
The focus of the 200 hour Ashtanga Yoga Certification course is on the practice and method of teaching the Primary Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. The primary series includes over 70 Asanas (postures), linked sequentially by Vinyasa (breath-initatied movements between the Asanas). The course begins with detailed instruction in the practice of the Primary Series and then continues with a morning Mysore style or Led Primary Series class for the remainder of the course. The ability to give adjustments and to assist students in deepening their postures and practice is developed throughout the course. The Sanskrit names of the postures are introduced and how to teach an Ashtanga Yoga Led class effectively is evaluated in detail. The benefits of the specific sequencing and the principles of Vinyasa (the movements between postures), Oujaii Pranayama(deep regulated breathing), Drishti(the looking place) and Bandhas(the three locks or seals) are included as essential elements of the Ashtanga Yoga practice. The importance of encouraging students to continue with a regular practice and preparing them for Mysore style is emphasized. Basic yoga philosophy, including the translation and chanting of the Yoga Sutras as well as the Anatomy most relevant to yoga practice is introduced. The course includes an introduction to Ayurveda, and instruction in Meditation. Maintaining a vegetarian diet and a lifestyle, which is conducive to yoga practice is encouraged throughout the course. Each participant has the opportunity to teach, assist and give adjustments. This teacher training explores the depth of the Ashtanga Yoga practice by revealing it's teaching techniques.
