David Revere of Mike Thompson RV noted: "The event is off to a great start. We are so excited and appreciative of our corporate sponsor's committing their donations to assure the success of a great tournament and a sizeable donation to the WEODWF. So far we have received sponsorships from Bank of America, Fleetwood RV Inc., Keystone RV, Thor Motorcoach, Bank of the West, and Roadtrek Motorhomes Inc., and others. All of the staff at Mike Thompson RV is deeply committed to this event and its success. The Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation supports wounded soldiers serving as EOD technicians within the four branches of the military. One hundred percent of the net profit will be donated to this foundation to help wounded soldiers and their families. All donations big or small do make a difference. We encourage participation at any level and are so thankful to our vendors, local businesses, and customers who are on board to help us give back to the community and help support this event."

EOD is a joint service military occupational skill which means EOD technicians serve within the Army, Marines, Navy and Airforce. The program is strictly manned by volunteer candidates that are specially trained. On average over 7000 brave soldiers serve as EOD technicians. They are responsible for disarming, rendering safe and disposing of a variety of unexploded military ordance and terrorist devices, normally called Improvised Explosive Devices. These devices on today's battlefields are responsible for the majority of fatalities and severe injuries to our troops. (http://woundedeodwarrior.org)
