The Dot Net Factory Releases First Self-Service Password Reset Solution for Windows Vista Operating System
Dublin, Ohio – March 1, 2007 – The Dot Net Factory, a leading provider of Identity Management solutions, announces the delivery of the first self-service password reset solution for the Microsoft Windows Vista(TM) operating system. MyPassword for Windows enables corporate users to reset their forgotten password or unlock their account from the Windows CTRL+ALT+DEL logon screen. The new version adds support for Windows Vista(TM) in addition to existing support for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. In addition to the Windows interfaces, MyPassword provides a SharePoint web part, an Outlook Web Access interface, and a standard web interface.
MyPassword for Windows addresses the number one initiator of helpdesk calls - forgotten passwords. As organizations try to make their environments more secure through stronger password policies, it becomes more challenging for end users to remember their complex and ever-changing passwords. Each password reset call can cost up to $40 in dedicated resources for resolution and associated user downtime. MyPassword will drastically reduce help desk calls and produce immediate cost savings.
MyPassword for Windows appears as an integrated option in the logon screen of Windows PCs. Users experiencing password or lockout issues will see a friendly link offering password assistance to reset their password or unlock their account. MyPassword walks the user through a simple process of answering a set of questions meaningful and specific to them. These questions were either answered previously by the user or were pre-populated using the MyPassword auto-enrollment feature.
MyPassword supports various security levels or roles that might be found in a typical organization allowing administrators to customize MyPassword functionality by user role. MyPassword also offers full flexibility on the number of questions, types of questions, question weighting and full support of localization in any language.
