WGBH Selects Charitable Asset Conversion LLC to facilitate sale of unused assets after move to new location

August 9, 2007 --- WGBH has contracted Charitable Asset Conversion, LLC (CAC) to facilitate the liquidation and sale of surplus assets remaining at Western Avenue production center that WGBH will not require at their new headquarters in Boston.  CAC plans to sell the assets at auction on August 22.  The assets include office furniture, radio and television studio production facilities, transmission equipment and associated antennas, radio mixing boards, and on-air and recording operational equipment.

WGBH relocated all operations, production, educational services, member services and personnel to their new headquarters located on One Guest Street. The new facility consolidates WGBH’s TV, radio, interactive and educational activities—previously scattered in twelve buildings in Allston—into a single efficient media complex.  Items for sale in the auctions will include assets made available by this relocation and operational equipment previously used in many aspects of pre-production and on-air production.

David Norton, Director of Physical Plant for WGBH for 25 years says, “We expect that CAC will help us recover some of the expenses associated with our relocation.”

“We at CAC know how difficult it can be to find markets for used specialized assets.  We make that our business, so you can focus on your business’ core competencies,” commented Glenn White, Managing Partner of CAC Boston.

An on-site auction is scheduled for Wednesday August 22nd at 125 Western Avenue at 10:30 AM.  Corporate Internet Auctions, LLC (CIA) will run the auction. All details of times, location, preview and inspections can be viewed at www.ciabid.com/WGBH CIA’s website.  The auction is open to the public and trade.

CAC works with corporations and non-profit organizations to convert unused assets to cash; many corporate benefactors donate “unused assets and/or inventory” in addition to or in lieu of cash to support and benefit their favorite non-profit organizations.  For more information about CAC or the items for sale at the auctions, please visit www.cacdonate.com/WGBH or www.ciabid.com/WGBH .
