September 12, 2012 (MMD Newswire) -- An uplifting tale of one woman's struggles to survive fleeing war torn Iran as a refugee, the abuses of a violent and unfaithful husband and the creeping ravages of multiple sclerosis. When her father's ill health necessitates a sudden return to Iran, she takes the pieces of her life apart and puts them back together again - a day at a time.

This is Leila's story. Born and raised in Iran, her childhood is comfortable if not without incident. Leila decides to study in America but returns after agreeing to an arranged marriage. Her husband, attentive and attractive initially becomes increasingly aggressive and violent; cruelly subjecting Leila to the vagaries of his temper and his constant womanizing. Leila stays unbendingly faithful and escapes war torn Iran with her husband and young son. When they settle in America, Leila witnesses the final break up of her family and her mental and physical deterioration is completed when she is diagnosed with MS. With her father's impending death she must return to Iran and the family she left behind. Why does this terrify her so thoroughly? Through the recollections of her dying father and the order she brings to the upheavals of her life at his grave site, she can finally untangle the emotional complexities of the past and face the future with confidence.
