VETERANS FUNERAL HOMES PROMOTE FREE BURIAL REGISTRATION

Sanibel, Florida -- August 22, 2008 -- Mark E. Davis, President & CEO of Veterans & Family Memorial Care announced today that it’s nationwide network of family owned funeral homes distinguishing themselves as "The Veterans Funeral Home" in their community has grown significantly in recent weeks. Staff members at the Certified Veterans & Family Memorial Care Providers have deep roots in their communities and are well trained to assist families with every detail of making final arrangement decisions. Their expert knowledge and experience in working with VFW, American Legion, Hospice and other local organizations has been the cornerstone of their success.

The government does an excellent job providing veterans and their spouses with burial benefits if you use a national cemetery, however there are very limited benefits for the funeral or cremation. Veterans & Family Memorial Care’s funeral home owners have demonstrated a willingness and commitment to reach out to veterans and their family members by extending benefits and savings beyond those provided by the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs. The VA prepares the gravesite, carries out the burial, furnishes a headstone or marker, and a flag and provides perpetual care. The department does not provide veterans funeral or cremation arrangements, transportation or military honors, all of which can be arranged through a local Certified, Veterans & Family Memorial Care Provider.

Gravesites cannot be reserved thru the VA, however hundreds of veterans have taken advantage of the Free Burial Registration Program provided by Veterans & Family Memorial Care. This ensures that burial will take place at the closest VA National Cemetery and that all final arrangement decisions are honored and respected.
