Fort Wayne, Ind. (November 1, 2007)  Vera Bradley announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Michael C. Ray as Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective immediately.  Mr. Ray will report to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company.

In addition, the company announced the appointment of Robert J. Hall as a member of the Board of Directors.  Mr. Hall was appointed to fill the vacancy of the late Mr. Peer Baekgaard.  Following Mr. Hall’s appointment, the Board of Directors of the company consists of Ms. Barbara B. Baekgaard, Ms. Patricia R. Miller, Mr. P. Michael Miller and Mr. Robert J. Hall.

Michael C. Ray joined Vera Bradley in 1998 as Director of Finance and was promoted to the position of National Sales Director less than a year later.  For the last two years, Mike has served as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He began his career with Coopers & Lybrand and is a Ball State alum.  

Mike and his wife, Amy Byrne Ray, live in Fort Wayne with their four children.
