THE TWIN BOND has been documented to be the closest relationship one human being can have with another. Twins think alike, talk alike, run alike, finish each other’s sentences,  they are, in essence, “two halves of a whole”. But what happens when one twin dies? What happens to the surviving twin?  Who understands this loss? Who can a twinless twin turn to?

THE “Twinless Twins Support Group International”, is a non-profit organization that serves in support of twins and other multiples who have lost their twin/multiple, through death or estrangement. Their mission is to provide a safe and compassionate community for twinless twins to experience healing, understanding, and a desire to help others cope with the loss of their twin.

Twinless Twins Support Group International (TTSGI) was established in 1986 by Dr. Raymond Brandt, who lost his twin brother Robert, in 1949. Dr. Brandt struggled all those years for with his identity, was he still a twin?  Through inner discovery and much soul searching, he finally came to the realization: “Once a twin, always a twin”. Through this joy, he immediately turned to helping other twinless twins and find that he healed as he helped others.

Our mission is to provide a safe and compassionate community for twinless twins to experience healing, understanding, and a desire to help others cope with the loss of their twin. To provide information and insight for bereavement counselors and/or clergy who may need to counsel a twin who has lost their twin. No one truly understands, except another twin.  Since there are no boundaries to twinships (twins are the same everywhere), members gather in all countries.
