In 2004, in the heart of the “cold relations” between USA and France, Three Americans wine enthusiasts from Tampa-Florida bought a vineyard in the south of France. Passionate, stubborn and hard workers, Joe, Liz and Ryan O’Connell overcame many obstacles to reach their goals.

The family of winemakers is obsessed with creating amazing wines designed for New World drinkers but still respecting the terroir and all the qualities and strenghts of an Old World vineyard. At O' Vineyards, wines are made with a passion that keeps quality high and lends a unique narrative quality to every bottle. Every measure that can be taken to make the product better is personally taken. Nobody in this family is embarrassed to be knee-deep in musk or to attend business meetings with purple fingers.

In the summer their first vintage 2005 was imported in the United States. The wines have been well received. People love to hear their wine story. Journalists and food critics love to write about their wine and the story behind it.

They have organized tastings with the public and captivated audiences from several people to over a hundred with the fantastic tale of their eastward journey into some of the oldest wine country. They will continue to support their representatives and their wines through national tours, private tastings, wine dinners, public tastings and trade shows.

Quotes from some of the newspaper articles:
* June 2006: La Revue du Vin de France awarded their first vintage of 2005 and quoted “ wine to keep an eye on”.  “First vintage by the Americans showing a determination to make high end wine”.

* May 27th 2007, the Wall Street Journal Europe gave a top rating “delicious”. The writer called it his “favorite wine” of the region and described it as “Richly extracted, smooth brambly fruit, smoke, pepper and herb; crunchy tannins; an expressive finish that promises to develop. The first vintage from an estate that was only bought in 2005 .”

* Aug 8th 2007, in the St Pete Times article, a professional wine retailer said: "I'm really impressed with how much they've done, so quickly," said Kevin Pelley, a wine seller who hosted a tasting of their wine recently at Bern's Fine Wines and Spirits. “In just three years, they revamped a vineyard, built a working winery and created a new quality wine in the Languedoc region.”
