The Wine Connection Relocates to 6,000-Square-Foot State-of-the-Art Building and Celebrates 15 Years in the Industry

POUND RIDGE, N.Y -- July 31, 2008 -- The Wine Connection (http://www.wineconn.com ), a merchant of fine and rare wines, announces its relocation to a newly renovated building at 32 Westchester Avenue in Pound Ridge, NY. Nominated by Market Watch magazine in 1997 as one of the top retailers in the U.S., The Wine Connection provides new oenophiles and seasoned collectors with fine wines from around the world.

“After 15 years at 71 Westchester Avenue, our business has grown to a size that our current space can no longer accommodate,” says Max Marinucci, owner of The Wine Connection. “To enhance service to our local retail customers, as well as our many loyal long-distance ones, we have purchased a building nearby that we are in the process of expanding and renovating from top to bottom. It is scheduled to open August 1 – just in time for our 15th anniversary on August 9.”

By moving down the street to the new space at 32 Westchester Avenue, The Wine Connection is once again at the forefront of the industry, and customers will be able to explore thousands of great and rare wines from around the world in an inviting environment. The 6,000-square-foot store is located in the beautiful rural town of Pound Ridge, one hour north of Manhattan and less than a mile from the New Canaan and Stamford, Connecticut borders, and parking is ample.M

“I am convinced that everyone will be extremely pleased by the results,” says Marinucci. “We have more than doubled our current retail space, built a beautiful tasting room where customers can attend special wine events and designed a state- of-the-art, temperature-controlled 2,000-square-foot warehouse and shipping/receiving station. Fine wine lovers will also enjoy browsing our two walk- in 56 degrees cellars each holding 2,500 bottles of rare wines.”

The custom redesign showcases stunning architectural details by James Best Architects in a European, country cellar setting. The beautiful wall murals of the idyllic Tuscan landscape by renowned artist Suzanne Bellehumeur complement the 200-year-old white oak flooring and antique beams. When they’re not in the tasting room, customers will enjoy perusing the 17,000 bottles displayed in beautiful redwood racking around the store, custom designed by Fred Tregaskis of New England Wine Cellars.

“We are always proud to find and offer wines that represent great values from anywhere in the world and also have helped many clients build multimillion-dollar collections over the years,” says Marinucci. “If you are serious about collecting for pleasure or investment purposes, our knowledgeable staff with over 25 years of experience will guide you.”
