PRESS RELEASE:

The Home Hunter TV Show Celebrates 25 Years

Phoenix, AZ  -- May 14, 2007 -- The Phoenix media market makes national history this quarter.  The Home Hunter television show is proud to celebrate its 25th year anniversary.  This milestone marks The Home Hunter as the longest running real estate talk show in the nation.  The Home Hunter, Sunday mornings, 9:00 a.m. on the Phoenix ABC affiliate Channel 15, is a half hour real estate talk show profiling new home builders, communities and home related products.

“Five years is considered a lifetime in television,” producer/host Dianne Hunter jokes, “and this year marks the completion of our fifth ‘life,’ if you will.  I’m beginning to feel a bit like a cat!  I don’t know if I personally have another four lives in me to make it an even nine, but I believe that as long as there is residential construction in the Phoenix area, my daughter, Tiffany, will carry the mantle onward for many, many more successful years.”

When The Home Hunter was created in 1982 it was the only show of its kind.  As Dianne recalls, “at that time I was modeling, doing television commercials, and industrial films. After getting  a divorce the year before, it was very difficult to raise my two daughters not knowing how much I was going to make and when I was going to be paid.  Although a little gutsy, this venture was a perfect fit for me, personally.   The market was a little slow in ’82 so the show gave builders a new and innovative way to showcase their new communities.  As far as the viewers were concerned, the show would allow them to literally see new housing developments without having to run all over town to models and trailers every weekend.  I remember on one of my first location shoots at Scottsdale Ranch asking my director if he thought anyone would actually move out this far.  What a joke!  Look at us now. And, so, with a few bumps getting start-up capital and a few connections, we entered living rooms all over the Phoenix area in the spring of ‘82, and the rest is truly history.”

Tiffany Hunter has been co-producing and co-hosting The Home Hunter with her mother for over seven years now.  Tiffany shares, “My own production career took off in California.  It was a wealth of experience and a lot of fun, but as I entered parenthood, I looked forward to raising my children back in Arizona.  My mother was more than willing to let me share the load of the show’s successful and growing markets.  There was plenty of opportunity.  And so our familial relationship took on a new dimension.  We have a lot of respect for one another, so it works for us.”

Since its inception, the show has continued to evolve and expand.  Featured communities extend beyond the Phoenix borders into new markets throughout the state.  In addition to construction, viewers can also learn about a variety of local home products and services for everything inside and outside the home.  Landscaping, lighting, window treatments, appliances, even home financing, are some of the featured sources highlighted on the show’s weekly episodes.  The Home Hunter has historically, and continues to be a vital link between provider and consumer in the Phoenix housing market.  Dianne and Tiffany, and the rest of The Home Hunter team extend their sincerest thanks to Channel 15, their viewers, and their clientele for a successful 25 years.
