The Dark Exiles by D.P. Pagano begins as the main character, Lith, is crawling up out of the great abyss. He was sent to Hell as punishment for his vengeful and bloody acts and stripped of his soul. Now Lith has come in search of his soul and so he perseveres through a drab and dreary existence without the one he loves. His youth is lost and now all he is left with are memories. This is a struggle for Lith who must somehow find his place in a dangerous time.
