SWANSON  BLAMES  ECONOMIC  WOES MOSTLY  ON  REPUBLICAN  ACTIONS

THIS PRESS RELEASE IS ISSUED BY THE SWANSON FOR UNITED STATES SENATE COMMITTEE OF BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA. JOHNNY SWANSON III, IS A  DEMOCRATIC  PARTY CANDIDATE FOR THE UNITED STATES SENATE FOR 2008, PLEASE SEE OUR WEB SITE TO SEE MR. SWANSON’S QUALIFICATIONS AND HISTORY.  www.swansonforsenate.com

Johnny Swanson III, A Disabled Military Veteran,, 1975 graduate of THE CITADEL, and a former National Security Services consultant  gives an analysis of the economic woes of the United States that has caused substantial job losses, foreclosures, high prices, and eventual bank failures and depression type operation of the United States economy.  Swanson seeks to unseat his Republican foe in the 2008 General Election for United States Senate for the State of Alabama.

Swanson criticizes the United States Congress as previously led by the Republican Party under the current Bush administration and claims that Republican Congressmen , Senators, and Senator McCain must be defeated in the 2008 election to eliminate the mind-set that has brought us a Congress aligned to BUSH-ISM ( Voting and acting on Bush policies at any expense).

Swanson cites the fact that the country is headed for a major DEPRESSION unless the Democrats can take control of the operation of this government and they must faithfully do the following things::

-    Re-align the tax reductions that the Bush policies has enacted and afford tax relief to the middle class and poor of this country as well as to small businesses. The government cannot cut it’s Revenue and then go on a spending spree in Iraq and around the world as this Republican Congress and Administration has allowed and enacted.

-    The democrats must ensure that Social Security and medical benefits as well as compensation to Veterans and the Elderly, be adjusted to treat these patriotic groups with respect and appreciation. Swanson claims that this action will spur the economy and help younger people feel better about committing themselves to the defense of our country. Swanson draws our attention to the PRESS RELEASES issued by his campaign relative to Social Security changes previously proposed by the Bush Administration. See Swanson’s web site at www.swansonforsenate.com  for  press releases.

-    Swanson blames foreclosures and future Banking crisis on the NAFTA trade agreement enacted by the Clinton Administration but designed by the Republican Party in general, as well as the rush of trade agreements pushed forwarded by the current BUSH administration  with Congressional approval under Bush-ism.

-    Swanson states that  foreclosures has occurred due to the greed of  mortgage companies and the failure of Congress to provide oversight of federal programs. This coupled with the false value increases of homes has priced college graduates out of the residential home market and back home to live with parents.  Jobs lost in all sectors of the economy have hurt those able to arrange ARMS type financing of over priced homes. Arms must be out-lawed  because of the false sense of security  that they give to those who will lose the homes in the future due to heavy mortgage rate increases and a “ I got you attitude “ in the mortgage industry, backed by banks who will fail due to mortgage owners walking out on homes not worth their value.

-    Swanson believes that the value of homes and mortgages must be adjusted to actual and realistic values to stop the rise in home foreclosures and to eliminate the glut of homes now on the market.  Otherwise, home owners will continue to default or to walk away from homes  that are no longer affordable. Swanson claims that mortgage holders will fight this, but the cure for national default may demand this action. Nobody likes to lose money , Swanson states.

-    Swanson claims that college graduates must have the stage set to encourage their progress in the economy and society , the poor must be able to find comfortable and affordable housing backed with home energy efficiency to  help the poor  realize that their labor intensive jobs has rewards behind the concept of working to survive and progress. Consumer credit policies must be reformed from a punishment system to a rewards system that considers reality of  life and to either eliminate credit scores system or to revise the system to allow consumers to contest the scoring that they participate in and not receive secretive scores that forces many to believe that this big brother type system is totally unfair and hidden from them. This scoring system may help some, while others feel that their hard  laboring work while facing difficulties has destroyed the American dream with no outlook for change or improvement.

The American Consumer deserves better, decries SWANSON.

-    In closing, SWANSON claims that the cascading effects of job losses and reduction of higher paying jobs must cease in order to move the stagnation now in place against our economy. Foreclosures causes the furniture companies to close, construction workers, plumbers, electricians and related workers and industries to lose jobs, businesses, and homes. All of this and other factors destroy the Banking industry and will cause outright  economic failure to harm and negatively affect National Security. Swanson asks, WHO AMONGST US WILL  BE ABLE TO PAY  CHINA FOR ALL OF THE BORROWED MONEY THAT HAS SENT US POISONED FOOD, AND PRODUCTS TO DESTROY OUR CHILDREN, PETS  AND OUR HEALTH, MOSTLY UNDER BUSH-ISM ?

Swanson, while assailing these politicians, encourages voters to vote this June and November to eliminate the mind set of “BUSH-ISM”
Politicians.
