Styky Launches Mobile Social Networking App at TechCrunch
Fun and Functionality Ensure Users “Never Lose Contact”
Philadelphia, PA, September 17, 2007 -- Today Styky releases its new mobile social networking application at TechCrunch in San Francisco, CA. Styky was one of 100 hot products selected from more than 700 applicants from 26 countries to present at this prestigious venture capital conference, where only the most promising new technology products are showcased.
The conference is organized by TechCrunch, a weblog that has a following of some of the industry’s most notable pundits. This year’s event includes a who’s who in technology, including Esther Dyson, Guy Kawasaki and Marc Andressen. Among the roster of big league attendees, Styky hopes to gain the attention of industry leaders, venture capitalists, and prominent media.
Kunal Gupta, the driving force behind Styky and CEO of Fone2Fone, Inc., the company that developed the application, describes Styky as a fusion of MySpace, Plaxo, and Sunday paper coupons. Users can wirelessly share digital content, automatically update and backup contact information, and access money-saving coupons. “It’s the ideal tool for anyone who’s ever lost their phone, changed carriers, lost touch with friends, or loves to save money,” said Gupta.
The Styky platform is built specifically for mobile devices, unlike competing products, which are designed as web-based applications. To accommodate the different shapes and sizes of mobile phones, Styky employs a unique user interface for each device. Most importantly, the application has been created around the interests of college students and young professionals, a group that has demonstrated a phenomenal appetite for social networking. “We look forward to providing these users with all the fun and functionality that Styky offers—all for free and in a single application,” Gupta added.
Styky, created by Fone2Fone, Inc., is a mobile social networking application that uniquely combines social networking, contact updating and backup, and mobile couponing in one convenient application. Designed and optimized specifically for mobile platforms, Styky is one of the only mobile applications that uses an individual's mobile phonebook as the basis of their social network. The application is available on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint and runs across a growing number of mobile platforms. For more information, text “4STYKY” or visit www.styky.com . ### |
