Texas -- October 2, 2007 --- Las Brisas de Mexico, the pre-mixed, ready to drink Margarita Company, recently expanded distribution of their LB Margarita from Colorado to Texas.  The spirit was recently picked up by Glazer’s, one of the country’s largest and most successful distributors of beverage alcohol, who feel they have a “real winner.”

LB Margarita was founded by entrepreneur Mary Jo Claussen and her husband Bonnie, who runs a restaurant in the Denver, CO area.  For years, people have flocked to the Las Brisas Restaurant for a taste of the Latin-style eatery’s famous house margarita, known as the “LB.”  Claussen soon realized that 30% of her total sales were in this one drink, so she began her 2 year journey of learning the liquor and bottling industry. LB Margarita hit the Colorado market just over a year ago with Distributor, Southern Wine and Spirits.

This 40 proof product, produced and bottled in Mexico, contains 20% alcohol and is made with 100% Agave tequila. It positions itself as the leader in RTD margaritas, containing a higher proof of alcohol than its competition.  “You don’t have to add more tequila…this cocktail is truly “ready to drink,”’ Said Claussen.

This January, LB hired VP of Marketing, Mashell Simpson-Lingle.  Being a Native and residing in Corpus Christi, Mashell set her sights on Texas.  “Texas drinkers know their tequila.  I can’t think of a better place to sell the best tasting, highest proof, premium margarita than the #1 margarita-drinking-state in the country.  It’s conveniently packaged in a 1.75L plastic bottle... perfect for boating, camping, tail-gating and parties,” said Lingle.  LB Margarita and Glazers teamed up in March.  Product is now available in liquor stores around the state including Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Austin. Together, they are expecting a “home run.”
