Plate is currently directing the multi-million dollar World Trade Center Site Redevelopment, which includes a transportation hub, the One World Trade Center Tower (the tallest building in the western hemisphere) and the National September 11th Memorial and Museum. Plate, a native of the Bronx and a civil engineer, walks the World Trade Center site daily speaking to workers and supervisors on the project. He also works closely with the local labor unions. A project of this size and scope has allowed Plate and his team to redefine what makes a successful leader.
"We're excited to have such a dynamic leader be the keynote speaker for our annual Leadership Forum," says Adam Potter, Executive Director of the CLM. "Although CLM Members and Fellows are not managing projects of the size and scope of the World Trade Center Site Redevelopment, they are leading projects and teams critical to the success of their organizations. I know we'll all learn a lot from Steve's experiences."
To register for the CLM Annual Leadership Forum, visit www.theclm.org/lf2012. The Forum will be held from 3 to 5:30 pm at the New York Marriott Eat Site and followed by the CLM Holiday Party from 6 to 9 pm at Pulse Restaurant in Rockefeller Plaza.
