STEPHEN HOLT, MD APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF WORLD ORGANIZATION OF NATURAL MEDICINE
February 11, 2008

February 11, 2008, Little Falls New Jersey:  Stephen Holt, MD, LLD(Hon.) ChB., PhD, ND, FRCP (C)MRCP (UK), FACP, FACG, FACN, FACAM, OSJ, (Scientific Advisor to Natures Benefit Inc. and Natural Clinician, LLC), was appointed as the President of World Organization of Natural Medical Practitioners (WONMP) at their Annual meeting in Houston, Texas, February, 2008.

The organization awarded Dr. Holt an accolade as an outstanding member of the medical and scientific community in the twentieth century.  The organization is linked to the Holy Order of the Knights of St. John, a group involved in international missionary work that is focused on the development of Natural Medicine.  Coincidental with this appointment, Dr. Holt announced his new work on a certification program for Counselors in Natural Medicine.

Eric Carter, Phd, Executive President of WONMP, stated:” The World Organization is delighted that Dr. Holt accepted the highest level academic status, among our group.  As a clinician par excellence, best selling author and award winning researcher, Dr. Holt brings powerful leadership in our expanding organization.  Dr. Holt is regarded as an internationally acclaimed pioneer of Integrative Medicine and he can amalgamate the movement of natural medicine, given his status as a Distinguished Professor of Medicine with a prestigious academic background.  Dr. Holt will play a major ambassadorial role in uniting our membership in many Asian countries, given his recent appointment to the board of Integrative Medicine Asia”.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Holt remarked: “I embrace eclectic medicine. While there is much to be gained from conventional medical practice, there has been a modern revolution in medicine.  Healthcare recipients are seeking more simple, gentle and natural options to promote wellness and longevity.  We have learned about the disadvantages and limitations of over- medication with drugs and first-line options for health and well-being involve positive life style change with the fundamental application of advanced nutritional practices, using vital nutrients, botanicals and herbs.

Modern humankind faces the challenges of global obesity and its related disease, metabolic Syndrome X, lifestyle disorders and chronic disease that causes premature death or disability in mature adults.  The change in treatment paradigm toward natural medicine had come largely from consumer lobbies where natural healthcare is preferred over premature allopathic interventions.  The medical wheel turns as Traditional Medical Practices emerge as innovative pathways to health in this new millennium.”  Professor Charles McWilliams, Grand Master of the Holy Order of St. John commented “Dr. Holt, as Knight of Grace, is consummate in the eight Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-10) which govern our knightly virtues”.
