Stalked: A Fictionalized Account of Actual Events by Joyce Fraser, Ph.D. offers a chilling portrait of what it feels like to be followed by a dangerous predator

VERO BEACH, Fla. (MMD Newswire) July 12, 2010 -- Stalked: A Fictionalized Account of Actual Events by therapist and former stalking victim Joyce Fraser, Ph.D. depicts the fears and uncertainties that come with being pursued by an unstable mind.

Shattered by the sudden loss of her parents, 15-year-old Kathryn Russell is taken in by her Aunt Trish to complete high school and move on with her life. At the most vulnerable time in her life, she encounters Jason Walker, a troubled teenager who is constantly wreaking havoc with classmates and teachers. Disgusted by his behavior, Kathryn rejects and avoids Jason, actions that only fuel his growing obsession with her. Years later, with Kathryn graduated from college and Jason out of juvenile detention, the pair cross paths again. Now a determined adult, Jason begins a calculated campaign of terror against Kathryn, threatening everything she holds dear. Kathryn is forced to choose between a life of terror or the bold actions that could help her take control of her life once more.

"The book was inspired by my own experience of having been stalked and the connections I discovered to my early childhood background," Fraser says. "Its primary message is that human beings are innately programmed to find the perspective of healing in their lives despite the degree of trauma they experienced."

Stalked includes detailed descriptions of stalking incidents, vandalism and intimidation tactics commonly used by perpetrators. Fraser intends to reveal the violent tendencies of stalkers, the profound invasiveness of their behaviors, and the choices that helped a young woman fight back and gain control of her environment.
