Las Vegas, NV. – May 23, 2006 - As an alternative to kennels, SLEEPOVER ROVER® has set up a new and very different service to place pets with a network of certified host families. The new service keeps owners from feeling guilty while they are away from home and can not care for their dog. Up until now, alternatives to a boarding kennel in the Las Vegas area have been very limited.
Due to the individual attention that host families are able to give, the dog’s normal schedule is able to be maintained. Host families usually only care for one families’ dogs at a time.
SLEEPOVER ROVER® started in Phoenix, AZ. Las Vegas is the company’s sixth location.
A large network of certified hosts is available throughout the greater Las Vegas metropolitan area. All certified host families are home full time and have pet safe yards. SLEEPOVER ROVER® offers a certified host that becomes almost an extended family member to dogs. A lot of dog owners find that their pet’s tail begins to wag as they pull into the driveway of the host family. It is usually obvious that the pet enjoys the experience.
On the other hand, dog kennels can be a very bad experience for dogs. They often feel like they have been abandoned in a strange place. They are terrified by the smell of antiseptics, tick dip, and blood from the adjoining veterinary hospital as well as by the constant noise of barking dogs all around. Furthermore, kennels can expose dogs to communicable diseases and parasites.
