June 5, 2007 -- Sleepover Rover, Inc.’s unique business model pairs stay-at-home dog lovers with travelers who are guilt ridden at the idea of leaving their dogs in kennels or cages when they need to be away.  Candice Allen, a Denver resident and local animal welfare advocate, is the company’s new market representative leading the development of Sleepover Rover services in Denver. Denver is the 7th major market for Sleepover Rover, which headquarters in Phoenix.

The company was founded by two Phoenix area women who love dogs and refuse to submit their own beloved pets to kennels or cages when they have had to travel. By identifying retirees, stay-at-home parents, or professionals who work from home offices, the company has created a vast directory of host families to whom they can refer dog owners looking for a home environment for their dogs when they need to be away. Dogs live as house guests of the host family, who are home full time to dedicate themselves to meeting the social, emotional, as well as physical needs of the pets entrusted to their care. The host families usually serve one client’s dog at a time, and they strive to duplicate the schedule, attention, diet, and love that the dog is used to when he is at home with his owner.
