Sherri May & Company, an award-winning marketing and creative services agency, has received certification from the National Women Business Owners Corporation (NWBOC) as a woman-owned business.

Sherri May & Company provides a full spectrum of creative, communication and internet services, with special emphasis on the financial services sector. The firm has grown ten-fold to meet growing demand since its inception in 1997.

The certification, called "Woman Business Enterprise" (WBE) Certification, ensures that a private, for-profit company is truly owned and controlled by a woman or women.

“This certification is a natural extension of our commitment to our clients, and we are especially pleased for them,” said Sherri May.

“Many of the larger corporations we serve track their programs with women-owned businesses, as do most local, state, and federal government agencies. We are honored that our clients are confident in the caliber of our services – now they can be confident in our women-owned status as well.”   

NWBOC was created in response to needs identified by the Procurement Special Interest Group of the National Association of Women Business Owners. The study revealed that the pubic and private sector had not recognized or received the benefits and value of contracting with women suppliers.
