ROXBOROUGH CHIROPRACTOR HOLDING FUND RAISER FOR SLAIN MARINE AND MURDERED FATHER
April 07, 2008

Contact: Anthony Galzarano
(215) 483-3200

On Saturday, May 3 from 9am to 3pm Dr. Anthony Galzarano will hold a fund raiser at his office, Wissahickon Chiropractic.

The money will be divided between two memorial funds.  There are two very different stories behind them.  What they have in common is that they are in memory of two very decent men, who met sudden, violent ends.  And who left behind families who are proud of what they stood for in life and are grief-stricken to have lost them so soon.

Adam Conboy, born and raised in Roxborough, was a 21 year-old Marine who was killed in Iraq on May 12, 2006.  David Atkins, 43, was the widowed father of a 6 year-old boy.  He was shot at his home in Nicetown on March 1, 2008 after answering a knock at his door in the middle of the night. The police have no leads.   Linda Atkins said her brother had been battling a crack house on the block and wonders if that is why he was killed.

David Atkins was holding down two jobs in order to keep his son in St. Martin de Porres Catholic school.  He had graduated from Roman Catholic High and wanted his son to receive a Catholic education.  The “David Atkins Memorial Fund” was established to pay little David’s tuition, hopefully through college.

The “Adam C. Conboy Memorial Fund” was established by his family to supply the troops with a few of the “comforts of home”.  Money donated to the fund goes to “Operation Bedding”, which has sent thousands of dollars of supplies to the troops in honor of a request that Adam made to his mother just a few days before he was killed.

Dr. Galzarano will be giving chiropractic adjustments to his patients for a $15 donation.  Those who are not patients will be given a screening for spinal misalignments including x-rays, if necessary, for a $30 donation.

There will be door prizes and refreshments.

Those interested can call (215) 483-3200 to make an appointment or get further information.  Or contact the office through www.wissachiro.com
