Robert Hill graduated from the University of New Mexico and earned a doctoral degree in French from Yale University in 1964. A longtime professor, Hill taught at Brown University, the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Pennsylvania. Throughout his career, Hill published academic works in field of 17th century French literature, rhetoric and poetics. A father of four and a grandfather of one, Hill resides in Lansing, Mich.
