Rhombus is Unisex Clothing for the Digital Age
September 19, 2007
It’s back to school time, and sophisticated style lovers take note. This fall marks the retail debut of Rhombus, a new unisex apparel line that calls itself ‘geek chic’ for the digital age. The New York-based fashion label is making the grade with its Fall collection, which features binary code graphics, standardized test prints and prep school designs. Rhombus is inspired by technology, maps, science, and math and is created for tastemakers influenced by art and architecture, as well as packaging and graphic design.

Fall standouts include the unisex work pant, made of virtually indestructible cotton duck and high density functional plastic zippers. Dress shirts in beautiful fabrics are finished with enamel covered snaps. Binary code and multiple choice standardized test prints add just the right amount of fun. Sophisticated and chic imported Italian wool tailored pieces round out this collection featuring unisex fitted dress pants as well as women’s dresses, jumpsuits and skirts.

Rhombus can be found at Neighbourhood Boutique in San Diego (4496 Park Blvd.), Unsung in Washington, DC (www.unsungdesigners.com ) and NYPULL in New York (265 Lafayette or www.nypull.com )

About Rhombus
Lisa and James Clunie started Rhombus so that they would have something interesting to wear to work. Both designers (she, fashion - he, graphic design) have been looking for apparel that reflects their own slightly nerdy style. Putting their heads together, they came up with the idea for Rhombus. Studious but not stuffy. Fun but not ‘funny’. Cool without all the effort. Stuff for computer kids that like science and math and bugs.
