New invention revolutionises the market for expensive razor blades and saves the consumer money. Gillette is in danger of losing billions in turnover.

March 29, 2010 (MMD Newswire) -- A new, Danish invention threatens to cost Gillette millions every month. The invention, called RazorPit is a sharpener for razor blades. A small silicone plate that in a few seconds "sharpens" razor blades and makes them as good as new, even extending the life of the blades with up to 10 times. Sharpen might not be the right word though. Like the barber used to "sharpen" his knife on a leather strap, Razorpit removes soap coverings, skin and hair, that sticks to the razor blade edge and makes it feel dull. A few strokes on the Razorpit are enough to make the blades seem new. This saves the consumer a lot of money and is eco friendly as well. Razorpit is already a huge success in Scandinavia and the UK, where it is sold in thousands each week. Razorpit is worldwide patent registered and soon to be found on the market in most of the world.

"The market for expensive cartridge razor blades is dominated by Gillette in almost any country. More than 600 Million consumer's worldwide use razor blades from Gillette and most of them like the quality from Gillette, but feel bad about the prices on the razors and blades", says Morten Kjeldsen, who had the idea for Razorpit, when his own razor broke. "I was amazed of how expensive razor blades are and how they went dull so fast. It is high tech and it didn't feel right, that they had to be replaced so fast. Luckily I had the idea for RazorPit, which can make the blades last for up to 10 times longer. Just let the razor blade slide a few times over the plate and the blades are as good as new", Morten Kjeldsen explains.

Eco friendly
RazorPit is imperishable and gives you up to ten times the shaves that you´re used to. Therefore it is a big plus for the eco system. "Why throw something away that is perfectly okay. You don't throw other things away that are simply dirty. And that's what's the case here. The razor blades feel dull because they are dirty, but with RazorPit they get clean in few seconds", says Morten Kjeldsen

RazorPit:
• Buyable on www.razorpit.com
• Cleans and preserves razor blades, so they last for up till 150 shaves instead of the usual 15.
