Hillary’s Victory deemed meaningless
San Juan, Puerto Rico, USA - The low turnout in today’s Democratic primary is a reflection of the conservative views of the Puerto Rican electorate. The majority of the 2.3 million registered voters in the Territory stayed home because they did not respond to the policies and views of the Obama and Clinton campaigns, according to John Regis, the local representative of the John McCain for President Campaign.
“Puerto Ricans residing in the island are traditionally very conservative. Although we all share a desire for a better future, our traditional family values remain intact. Puerto Ricans are united on issues of religion, marriage, as well as an unquestionable concern for our children’s future. Puerto Rican believe in John McCain’s philosophy of a strong economy by lowering corporate taxes, reducing the size and expenditures of the Federal Government. McCain believes in improving the quality of life by cutting personal taxes, reducing wasteful spending, controlling health care cost, controlling the cost of oil and improving our educational system.” said Regis, a local small business entrepreneur.
Since the year 2000 John McCain has been a supporter of resolving Puerto Rico’s status problem by providing a congressional mandated process of self-determination where Puerto Ricans can select a permanent status from among clear unambiguous status alternatives.
The truth is that Puerto Ricans recognize Barack Obama’s lack of experience and dangerous positions in foreign policy make him unfit to be President. Obama is an old kind of Democrat, with a lot of empty promises and no substance. From now until November we will actively campaign in Puerto Rican communities in the mainland to turnout our communities in full support of John McCain. The lack of interest of Puerto Ricans in today’s primary show that our voters did not respond to the propaganda machine the Democrats offered,” said Regis.
“John McCain is an experienced conservative leader in the tradition of Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and Ronald Reagan. He is a common sense conservative who believes in a strong national defense, a smaller, more accountable government, economic growth and opportunity, and dignity of life and traditional values. His values are shared by the majority of Puerto Ricans both in the island and in the mainland,” concludes Regis. +++++++++++
