The largest photo sharing service in The Netherlands, MijnAlbum.nl, goes international with the launch of MyAlbum.com this week.
,,MijnAlbum.nl has a customer base of 870.000 users and 62 million photos online in its home country. We have proven our concept in The Netherlands”, says Age van der Meer, managing director. ,,The time is right for the rest of the world to enjoy the free, simple and straightforward functionality of MyAlbum.com.” Van der Meer continues: ,,the site owes its success to the easy-to-use interface, the strong focus on private sharing and its no-nonsense approach to servicing people who simply want to share their personal photos with friends and family. This has been our vision from the start of the Dutch site in 2003 and it has never failed us”. Van der Meer stresses that MyAlbum.com stands apart from other sites which have their focus on semi-professional photography, printing or subscription based services. MijnAlbum.nl was founded in 2003 by 4 young entrepreneurs. In 2006 the website launched a public environment in which users can share their photo albums with the world. As of November 2007, MijnAlbum.nl hosts 62 million photos and has 10 % reach under the Dutch internet population. http://www.myalbum.com You can contact Andries Nolles, head of communications, for more information.
