VIRTUAL TV NETWORK PROMOTES INDEPENDENT FILMS - It's Not Your Grandmothers TV Network
April 16, 2008

Birmingham, AL April 16, 2008 -- Right when you thought all was lost on television, finally quality TV is back on the scene. This summer, Blaze Television Network will premier original television programming.  The Network is currently seeking independent and student film makers to submit their comedies, dramas, made-for-tv short films and other original programming to be seen by an audience who is looking for quality TV shows.  BlazeTV.com is a multi-channel operation that will function quite similar to a mainstream network.

Yet unlike many mainstream networks that are airing copycat programming with minimal diversity in subject matter, this network is seeking to draw attention to the creativity of talented independents, students and semi-professional film makers.  More importantly, those participants in the community driven websites who currently use them as a venue to gain exposure for their quality videos can submit them to be viewed by a more scrutinizing audience. Much like a virtual film festival, not all programs will be selected to appear on the network. This forum however, will be quite complimentary to most festivals as it can be a secondary platform for talented people to submit their work.

Network Offers Promotions

As the network seeks to quickly gain its sea legs in the marketplace it is sponsoring pre-launch promotions to encourage the submission of quality programming. One such promotion will be to provide some number of talented independent or student film makers with an ipod when their outstanding program is selected as a special feature by the BlazeTV.com editors. Another promotion promises to grant successful film makers of the successful videos small cash award.

Seeking Correspondent Interns

Blaze Television Network is also looking for interns to work as network correspondents to report news, political, entertainment and sports to our viewing audience.  Blaze will supply all of the required video equipment and cover the cost of travel expenses for those eligible correspondents to attend various functions, such as Awards Shows, Sporting Events and Political Functions!  Participants must be 18 or older to intern and at least 21 to travel.  The Network is looking primarily for applicants with journalism or communications degrees or current students who are pursuing similar majors.
