"We have recently had our flagship product, Petro, tested by an independent laboratory on actual samples taken from the BP spill. The results showed an amazing 58% reduction in oil in just 7 days," said Bill Waller of First Response. Most products that we have tested simply will not work, especially on crude that has already been treated with dispersant. Petro was developed specifically for the BP spill."
Petro and PetroDry are all-natural non-GMO (genetically modified organism) microbial products used for commercial scale bioremediation of petroleum contamination. Petro microbes were selectively isolated from various real world oil spills including the 2010 British Petroleum Gulf of Mexico oil spill, a critical element in the adaption, survivability and effectiveness of the microbes. Over a short period of time the microbes degrade the oil into water, carbon dioxide and carbon.
"Our goal is to rapidly restore the Gulf using 100% environmentally friendly products and our partnership with Green Earth Naturally is a big step towards reaching goal. We are also initiating talks with Ocean Therapy Solutions, Kevin Costner's company, to use our microbes in tanker barges to naturally remediate oil recovered form their equipment. Our barges will eliminate the cost of transportation and disposal and greatly reduce the associated liabilities," said Rick Crosby of First Response. Doug Suttles, BP's chief operating officer said of Costner's product, "We were confident the technology would work but we needed to test it at the extremes. We are very pleased with the results and we have placed a significant order with OTS and will be working with them to rapidly manufacture and deploy 32 of their machines." Crosby concluded "After 25 years in the environmental business, I can assure you that there is not a single solution that will restore the Gulf. Results are achieved by pairing the best technologies with innovative thinking. At this point we know what will work, and, we know what does not. We're confident we are on the right track."
