This certification assures consumers that all Simmons foam mattresses are low-VOC and free from ozone-depleting CFSs. These CertiPUR-US® approved mattresses are made without fire retardants, mercury, lead, PBDE, formaldehyde, prohibited phthalates and other harmful materials. Simmons' innovative thinking is a proactive response to health and safety concerns from consumers regarding industry standards in polyurethane foam mattresses.

CertiPUR-US certification is awarded by an independent, third-party laboratory after a series of tests is used to determine whether the foam meets health, environmental and safety standards, as explained in the U.S. Voluntary Physical Performance and Environmental Certification Guidelines for Flexible Polyurethane Foam for Use in Furniture and Bedding Items. These standards were created by a team of industry leaders, scientists and environmental experts who developing the CertiPUR-US program for the Alliance for Flexible Polyurethane Foam, a leading foam industry trade organization.
