March 11, 2010 (MMD Newswire) -- The Infoshop by Global Information would like to present a new market research report, "Theme Parks - UK - February 2010" by Mintel International Group Ltd.

The theme park market in the UK experienced 2.4% growth for the year 2009 while theme park admissions rose by more than 3% to nearly 14 million. The theme park industry has benefited from the economic recession. Due to a weak pound and tight financial circumstances of many consumers, more of the population preferred to stay at home and opted to take short breaks, day trips, or their primary holiday vacations in the UK in place of traveling abroad. The weakness of the sterling has been the principal motivator for inbound tourism, which benefits theme parks around London where the majority of inbound tourists tend to spend their time.

Research data and analysis shows that in 2009, a quarter of adults visited a theme park. Approximately 88% of these adults were returning visitors while 12% were first time visitors. This illustrates the significance of maintaining strong ties with customers. Additionally, affordability and convenience are central to drawing in visitors. Research shows that being able to self-check in with pre-printable tickets, discounted accommodation, travel deals, and queue avoiding are all tactics that theme parks have adopted to attract visitors.
