Over the past week, Virginia College's Tampa online program facility raised $484.00 for the United Way. A large portion of the donation came from the Military Student Center where a silent auction raised money and created excitement. The big ticket item in the auction was a pair of Tampa Bay Buccaneers tickets, donated by Campus President Glenn Robinson (see photo).
This week's donation brings the location's running total to $3,181.48! They are also continuing to encourage everyone to get rid of their loose change in the donation jar and will continue to have casual days for $1.
At Virginia College in Huntsville, Alabama, t-shirts provided by the local United Way agency are being sold for $5, along with a "license" to wear the shirt with jeans for one day. Or, for $25, the purchaser can wear it with jeans for a total of 10 days.
Campus President Jim Foster says, "I didn't think we would have many buyers at the $25 level, but the demand has been tremendous."
Many locations have already submitted sealed pledge forms and a tally of how each division is shaping up against goals will be available on the company's internal web portal soon.
