Singh teamed up with two of the knitting world's hottest designers to bring her customers a fresh take on cold weather styles. Kapur, of Through the Loop Designs created "Isabella," a hat/scarf/mitten set that looks like stranded color work, but is actually less difficult to create because the knitter doesn't have to change yarns. Additionally, the ingenious patterns utilize slipped stitches to look like cabling, a deceptively easy technique that results in a sophisticated look.
Gardiner, of Gardiner Yarn Works, who helped popularize fabulous knitted socks with her new book Toe Up, created the other pattern. "Tangled Vine" features an alternating climbing leaf motif that looks gorgeous knitted in green yarn. The pattern conveniently calls for only one skein of yarn, and may be knitted from toe-to-top or top-to-toe, depending on the knitter's preference.
Both Kapur's hat/scarf/mitten patterns and Gardiner's sock pattern are available only through www.sandrasingh.com, the exclusive source for these designs. They are available as PDF downloads, unless purchased as a kit, with choice of yarn included. Photographs of the finished pieces can be found on the website. "Isabella" is knit in Malabrigo Merino Worsted and "Tangled Vine" are knit in Malabrigo Sock, both of which are yarns carried by SandraSingh.
