PRECIOUS HEROES PROJECT with Celebrities & Children of Fallen Troops Launches in April, Month of the MILITARY CHILD

Nashville, TN – April 3, 2008 - Operation Ensuring Christmas ...for Children of Fallen Troops announced today the launch of the Precious Heroes Project during April, the Month of the Military Child. The CD/DVD package will feature stars from Music, Film, Sports, and other facets of entertainment along with the Children of Fallen US Troops recorded in studios and other venues across the country. A ‘making of’ the Precious Heroes Project DVD will be filmed during production of the project. The release of the Precious Heroes Project CD/DVD package is scheduled for Veterans Day, November 11, 2008, just in time for the Christmas Holiday season.  

In 2006, Operation Ensuring Christmas produced ‘A lil Heroes Christmas’ CD featuring Children of the Fallen. The CD made #8 on Billboards Heat Seekers (new artist) charts. Operation Ensuring Christmas and the CD story were featured on NBC’s ‘The Today Show’ and in other national media outlets.

  

With this follow up to ‘A lil Heroes Christmas’, the Precious Heroes Project will bring the children and celebrities together in studios across the country to interact and add their voices to the CD, but more importantly to the cause. The thrill that the children would get from meeting some of their favorite stars alone is worth the effort and the dollars raised from the project to support these children could of course be significant. Celebrities will also be encouraged to bring their children along to interact with and support our ‘precious lil heroes’, peer to peer, child to child.

OEC has retained the entertainment law firm of Dicks & Nanton P.A., Orlando Florida, to assist with the legal issues involved and the development of the project. 100% of the proceeds from the project will be going to Operation Ensuring Christmas and their programs benefiting the children.

Operation Ensuring Christmas, a 501c3 not-for-profit, was founded in October 2004 to provide support to the children of troops killed in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the globe. OEC provides the children with Christmas Gift Cards during the holiday season and a VIP ‘Christmas in July’ Orlando Theme Park vacation. An additional program providing US Savings ‘Patriot Bonds’ to the children is also in development. "These children truly are VIPs, Very Important Precious lil heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice a child can make for their country, the loss of a parent in service to our Nation. The programs from OEC are to help these children be kids again." OEC founder Robert McDowell.  

OEC was thanked by President Bush and Actor Gary Sinese at the White House for its efforts to support the children of fallen troops. OEC’s kids are supported directly or indirectly by the NFLs New England Patriots, Texas Rangers and other Major sports teams as well as NASCAR, and WWE. OEC is supported by corporations such as Bank of America, AAA Travel and ATK and by Foundations and generous individual Americans. OEC is a member of AmericaSupportsYou.mil, a nationwide program that recognizes citizens support for military men and women.
