Hollywood, USA (MMD Newswire) November 11, 2009 -- Controversial Director Damian Chapa will begin pre-production of the sequel to his Polanski Unauthorized feature film about the life of Roman Polanski.
Amadeus Pictures along with L'Ambassador International Media & Entertainment LLC are executive producing the Sequel with thier private investor funds in Asia.Polanski Love him or hate him, Roman Polanski has definitely led an interesting life -- a life that will soon receive the 2nd biopic treatment.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first unauthorized biography was something of a passion project for Damian Chapa:
Amadeus Pictures head Damian Chapa produced and directed "Polanski, Unauthorized 1, which reflected passages about the director's childhood in Poland during the Holocaust; the murder of his wife, Sharon Tate, by followers of Charles Manson in 1969; and his conviction for sex with a minor that kept him out of the U.S. for decades. Chapa will now produce Polanski Unauthorized 2 which will span the last 30 years of Polanski's life. Also Polanski Unauthorized 2 Chapa will cover the New events surrounding Polanski's extradition and pending trial in the United States.
"It's a very intense story we're going to carefully base on court documents and public-domain records," Chapa said. "I've looked at the court documents of his (statutory rape) case, and they're so brash and in-your-face. What happened there has overshadowed his whole life and I believe all are fascinated by his story and I couldn't understand why no one has done a movie about him. That's why I did the first one."
In addition to writing, producing, and directing Polanski, Chapa again will take on the lead actor role as Polanski. Pre-Production is set to begin January 7th 2010 and begin production January 26th 2009.
