Brian Sanz, CEO of FoxCroft Trading, has put considerable effort into developing software that gives FoxCroft the ability to connect to supplier databases and automate almost 90% of the usual business procedures, including, but not limited to, sales, invoices, billing, and, most importantly, electronic pedigrees.
"There are a large number of pharmaceutical wholesalers such as my company that have no type of automation," notes Brian. "This is either due to not having the in-house expertise or the time to do it."
After shopping around for a commercially available solution, we found that companies wanted to charge FoxCroft Trading upwards of $50,000, up to $100,000 to design such a solution. In addition to a distinct lack of cost-effectiveness, they were also adding features that were really not needed.
"The number of unnecessary features included drove the price very high." said Brian. "I was like, 'Guys, I want this, and not 100 useless features.' These solution providers are not pharmaceutical wholesalers, and they do not understand our needs."
This lack of understanding of the market and the solutions required by it led to the starting of a project code-named "Apollo". Renamed to "FoxCroft Rx Server" once it was fully developed, the software allows FoxCroft to integrate supplier data into an in-house data store and repurpose it, displaying it to our customers in an online store. It also handles all administrative tasks, such as security, reporting, wholesaler license management and product markups. It also allows FoxCroft the ability to provide an electronic pedigree to our clients.
"No more paper pedigree," said Brian. "Our clients log in and manage their pedigrees easily online. Moving forward I thought we were done, but then i started to get calls from companies wanting to license the software."
The addition of FoxCroft Rx Server to the company's service offerings has led to a strong year for the company. At the same time, it is helping other wholesalers solve the same problems FoxCroft once suffered from, at an affordable price.
