Peoria, AZ December 6, 2006 - The Peoria Film Office is seeking film and screenplay submissions for the first Peoria Film Festival premiering March 1-4.
The festival will feature celebrity and film screenings, film and screenplay competitions, and workshops. The event takes place at Harkins Arrowhead 18 in Peoria, AZ 
Helen McCready, festival director and Peoria film commissioner, said the event is designed to showcase local talent and promote filmmaking in the city and the state.
"I don't think the filmmakers have enough outlets to show their work," McCready said. "A lot of films are made locally. (It's) a place for filmmakers to show their films on the big screen."

Categories: Short films, student films (high school or college), and feature length (60 minutes plus).

Screenplay competition - Deadline: Postmarked by Feb. 18.
