PENNSYLVANIA SENATOR WINS AWARD
 Senator Bob Casey, Jr. named “America’s Most Outstanding Leader”

Blue Bell, PA -- August 21, 2007 -- Senator Bob Casey, Jr. (D-PA) was named “America's Most Outstanding Leader ” for the month of August by the publisher of the on-line newsletter, New Political Review.com.

“The last couple of our awards have recognized the contributions of state and local leaders.” said newsletter publisher, Anthony Mirabile. “When we were ready to turn our attention back to the national scene, I knew I wanted to highlight Bob Casey, Jr.”

Casey, Jr - elected to the US Senate in 2006 - is the first Democratic Senator from Pennsylvania to be elected to a full term since 1962. He immediately began to define himself as a staunch advocate of working people and traditional families. He opposes the privatization of Social Security and school vouchers, and stood behind efforts to replace Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

“Bob Casey, Jr. demonstrated that he had both vision and backbone when he served first as Auditor General and then as State Treasury,” says Mirabile. “In his brief tenure in the US Senate, he has not disappointed.”

Senator Casey’s committee assignments include Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, Foreign Relations, United States Congress Joint Economic Committee and the Special Committee on Aging. He also sits on numerous subcommittees. He supports efforts to curb US dependence on foreign oil by directing resources to the development of alternative energy sources.
