NEW YORK GOVERNOR SPITZER WINS AWARD
Named “America's Most Outstanding Leader” Blue Bell, PA - February 14, 2007 - Governor Eliot Spitzer (D-NY) was named “America's Most Outstanding Leader ” for the month of February by the publisher of the on-line newsletter, New Political Review.com.
“This is the first time we’ve honored a governor,” said newsletter publisher, Anthony Mirabile. “We liked his focus on reform and ethics, and also that he is willing to eschew party politics to get the job done.”
Elected governor in November 2006 by an overwhelming majority, Spitzer plans an agenda aggressively geared toward electoral and legislative reform.
Governor Spitzer’s reform platform is a continuation of the focus he maintained during his tenure as the New York Attorney General. In that position, Spitzer prosecuted white-collar crime, environmental abuses and securities fraud.
According to publisher Mirabile, “This is a man who isn’t afraid to break with tradition. And a ‘no business as usual’ attitude is one that we want to applaud.”
