New Upscale Health Club to Replace Powerhouse Gym

November 1, 2006 -- Mauldin, SC -- Out with the old gym concept and in with the new, family friendly health club.  Todd Glassman, has been an owner of a few of the Powerhouse Gyms in the Greenville market, but has decided to centralize his efforts on one of his clubs on North Main Street in Mauldin in an effort to create a new, innovative health and fitness club focused on ‘true’ fitness for everyone.  TRUE Health and Fitness is coming to Mauldin this November.

“My partner and I, Charlie DeMarco, have brought in a well-known high-end health-club developer and are set to unveil a club that will turn heads and accommodate people of all genders and ages” says Glassman.

The new club developer, Chris Gallo, of Five Star Fitness Systems has been a key component in the development of some the most upscale, innovative health club concepts in the Southeast over the past five years: O2 Fitness Clubs and CORE Fitness Clubs.

“I love this project and took it on because Todd and Charlie truly want to make a difference in the Mauldin fitness community and are willing to take all of the proper steps to build a fitness entity that creates a unique, personalized fitness experience for everyone” says Gallo.  

TRUE Health and Fitness, located where the old Powerhouse Gym operated on North Main Street operated, will be a far cry from a hard-core gym with mainly heavy weights and old décor.  The new club will be filled with brand new, modern equipment, a women’s only workout area with equipment to match, and even a privacy cardio area where you can exercise in total tranquility and listen to your own satellite audio station.  Other amenities will include Rep Reebok toning classes, fitness floor servers, personal fitness consulting, diet therapy, remodeled locker rooms, a large smoothie lounge, tanning, innovative group exercise & dance classes and plasma tv entertainment throughout.  The club will be a family owned and operated facility where each member will receive all of the personal attention and support they need.
