Jersey City, New Jersey (February 26, 2007) - - Thinkpoz.com , a “My space’ type website for people living with HIV and AIDS will officially launch on March 1, 2007. The website which allows people with HIV/AIDS to create their own WebPages with music and video capabilities was created by Ray Velazquez. Velazquez, a former New Jersey elected official, who tested positive for the virus in November 2005, founded the website in hopes of creating an environment for people with HIV/AIDS to socialize and network. Velazquez, who did not seek re-election as Freeholder, District 4 in Hudson County, New Jersey, believes that the site will attract thousands of people who need the friendship and support that exists in a social web community. In addition, the website allows members to create blogs, polls, groups, and includes a chat room and instant messages that utilize audio and video.
The website has been up and running for several weeks in preparation for its launch. It has attracted several hundred people from all over the world and more join each day. People who are not HIV positive can join the website and acknowledge their negative status by checking an information box that reads, “No, just showing love” when asked if they are HIV positive. In addition, healthcare professionals can join and create special pages, so that people utilizing the website can find the medical providers they need. The website is free to join.
Thinkpoz.com is currently seeking sponsors, so those interested in advertising on the website should contact Ray Velazquez at
