NEW GLOBAL REVENUE ASSURANCE PROFESSIONALS ASSOCIATION FORMED!
300+ Members Unite to Provide the Telecom Industry with Much Needed Standards and Approaches to Combating Fraud and Revenue Loss July 10, 2007 --- Over the past ten years, telecommunications companies around the world have begun to create revenue assurance (RA) departments to help them contain losses due to fraud and revenue leakage. According to Rob Mattison, president of the Global Revenue Assurance Professionals Association, Inc. (GRAPA), “Leakage and fraud have always been issues for telecom, but the recent explosion of new technologies, such as WiMAX, 3G, VoIP, and a host of others have brought this problem to the forefront.” In a response to this sudden increased interest in formalized revenue assurance, hundreds of telecom executives have turned to GRAPA for assistance in establishing guidelines for the best way to run their RA organizations and assure their revenues. “The response to the formation of GRAPA in May 2007 has been phenomenal. We have more than 300 members from about 80 countries around the world and membership registrations are still pouring in,” says Mattison. | Regions | No. of Companies | No. of Countries | | Americas | 43 | 18 | | Europe | 39 | 24 | | Asia | 36 | 15 | | Africa | 31 | 17 | | Middle East | 22 | 12 | | | 171 | 86 | GRAPA was formed to address the needs of telecommunications, satellite, cable, internet, and other service providers in the establishment of standards, and the sharing of best practices across the industry. The association’s website features forum areas in English, French, and Spanish (thus far). It has special interest groups and regional topics.
