LAGUNA BEACH, CA- February 21, 2008—Prick isn’t a dirty word. Laguna Beach Publishing’s newly-released “The Prick Index™” (www.theprickindex.com ) has been picked up by Amazon.com, Ingram, and Baker & Taylor since its release two weeks ago. The book is about Insights into Thorny Relationships. These relationships are both male and female in gender. The term “prick” is a metaphor for a rose thorn. The book has a new method of quantifying the level of pricking in a light, playful tone while capturing the seriousness of the subject.
Recent readers of the book are quoted as saying “I couldn’t wait to turn the pages. It is a fun book to read! It made me laugh!”
The authors also have three (3) book trailers (videos) located on their website (www.theprickindex.com ) to entice you into wanting to read the book. The videos are the animal caricatures in the book that come alive to convince you that “Prick isn’t a dirty word!” You will have to read The Prick Index™ to find out!
The authors were college roommates 25 years ago and reconnected one day when they were talking on the phone. They realized they were, much like everyone else, pursuing the “American Dream” until one day their worlds shattered. They then realized that the “this is not my life” syndrome was common, but nobody talked about it in the open. Certainly no one has written about it or has quantified how people interact with each other in such a raw truthful manner. They either have lived many of the stories in the book, or know those that have or were inspired by stories they heard through word of mouth. Today, Janis Skye is a Marketing Manager for a privately held firm just outside of Atlanta, Georgia and writes by candlelight. Charlie Mercier currently writes and paints in Laguna Beach, California.
