NAST Names New Communications Director
LEXINGTON, Ky. (MMD Newswire) August 22, 2012 -- The National Association of State Treasurers (NAST), composed of all state treasurers or state finance officials with comparable responsibilities, from the United States, its commonwealths, territories and the District of Columbia, has named Lisa S. Cleveland as its new director of communications.
Cleveland, of Frankfort, Ky., has worked in the areas of communications, marketing and project management for more than 20 years. She has experience in the public and private sectors, most recently having served as director of communications for the Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) in Frankfort. Prior to joining KHS, Cleveland worked as a project manager at Kentucky Interactive, LLC., a subsidiary of the national e-government firm, NIC. In this capacity, she managed multiple online licensing programs for state government agencies. Before joining Kentucky Interactive, Cleveland served as director of communications at the Kentucky Secretary of State's Office. She started her career as a newspaper reporter.
Cleveland holds a B.A. from the University of Kentucky and will complete a MBA from Midway College this fall.
