NAIL FUNGUS: DEATH BY STARVATION
October 15, 2007

Dermatologist and Podiatrist Create Topical Treatment Based on Properties of Superglue Derivative

Most people do not want to risk their lives for their toenails. Traditional topical approaches to nail fungus are largely ineffective, and the oral medications available can cause severe liver problems, leading to liver transplant or death.  Two California doctors have partnered to offer an effective topical solution for the treatment of nail fungus (or onychomycosis), a condition that affects over 34 million Americans alone and accounts for more than fifty percent of all nail disorders.  This product, called Renewed Nail®, uses a superglue-like component combined with an antifungal agent to deprive the fungus of its nutrition sources.

Dr. Tim Nguyen, a chemist turned podiatrist, created Renewed Nail® after years of frustration with the available topical medications.  He took a different approach than these medications by focusing on starvation of the fungus by disrupting the fungal food chain: air, food (keratin) and water.  His solution creates an environment that allows the antifungal to remain in the nail, killing the fungus, while simultaneously blocking absorption of air and water.  Although it has proven difficult taking on the pharmaceutical giants, these doctors know that their product offers something that none of the large companies can: healthy nails without harmful side effects.

Fungal nail sufferers are often frustrated by the lengthy treatment and persistence of this disease.  Any product claiming results in one week is absolutely false and a waste of the consumer’s time and money.  “Home remedies” such as applying Vick’s VapoRub®, vinegar or tea tree oil merely soften the nail and do nothing to attack the fungus.  They may improve in appearance temporarily, but fungi are very resilient and will undoubtedly return.  A professionally developed treatment rooted in science is the best option to clear healthy nails.

Renewed Nail was launched in December 2006 to provide consumers with a safe, effective solution for their fungal nails.  For further information or to schedule an interview, please see the contact information below.
