My ATHLETE LLC, enters into agreement with Global Trek Xploration Corporation (GTXC) to market My ATHLETE personal location devices utilizing GTXCs’ proprietary technology

Easton, CT -- October 1, 2007 -- My ATHLETE LLC, a GPS and cellular technology based personal location service for athletes, has announced it entered into a long-term licensing agreement with GTXC to use GTXCs’ patented proprietary gpVector solution technology in the My ATHLETE personal location devices.  These devices are designed to deliver remote, real-time personal location data of athletes in training and competition in non-motorized sporting events.  Viewers wishing to know the athlete’s position can see it in precise detail on a map on their computer, web-enabled cell phone or other web enabled devices such as a Blackberry or Treo.

This partnership leverages the best of both organizations.  GTXC, founded in 2002, is dedicated to developing and commercializing miniaturized Global Positioning Satellite tracking technology that uses cellular transmissions.  My ATHLETE, started by John Brennan, a veteran tri-athlete and a five time Ironman competitor, is dedicated to addressing the needs of the athlete’s friends and family as they train and compete in these time consuming sporting events.

To quote John Brennan in explaining the rationale for the device:
“I have seen so many races where friends, family, sons and daughters miss their athlete due to timing, turning their heads at the wrong time, or just not being able to spot their athlete in the crowds of competitors.  This will empower the spectator to know when their athlete is close to them so they can be ready to cheer them on as they come by.  It will also alleviate the worries of the friends and family when the athletes, for whatever reason are slower than their anticipated time goal, by being able to see them still moving on the course.”

The My ATHLETE device is designed to be lightweight, belt-worn, easy to use and self-contained.  Being internet based, it will not require any program installation to operate and will automatically download data in real time.  The location can be viewed on the My ATHLETE web site upon entering the athlete’s access code, which is given out by the athlete to viewers of his or her choice.  With its’ triathlon origin, the water resistant device will track in water while swimming, on the bike ride and the run.  Having programming capability,  it can be set to track the position at preset distance intervals for slower events like swimming as well as track and report at preset time intervals for fast events like the bike race.  Its’ design has the multi-sport functionality of running, biking, swimming, kayaking, skiing and Adventure Racing as it reports location, elevation, time and speed.  Its’ ease of use is designed for the spectator on the course or across- the-globe viewing of the progress from the comfort of the home.  The device comes with the Geo-Fence capability to alert the viewer when the athlete crosses their pre-set point of interest via a text message or an e-mail.

The My ATHLETE device has undergone rigorous development testing in varied environments from the urban Boston Marathon, to multi-state bike trips, Ironman competition and California coastal sailboat racing to achieve real-time, accurate and reliable tracking of the athlete. Its’ expected market rollout is now scheduled for early 2008.
