My Athlete LLC successfully tests GPS real-time live tracking unit prior to making it available to runners next week at the Boston Marathon on April 21, 2008.
Easton, CT. – April 16, 2008 – Not since the introduction of the binocular, the periscope or the telephoto lens has an innovation promised to so radically change the way spectators witness a sporting event. My Athlete LLC, a GPS and cellular technology based personal location service for athletes, has completed the development of its’ real-time live tracking device and successfully tested several Beta production units on the Boston Marathon course this past weekend. Please visit www.MyAthlete.biz web site for images of the test tracking results.
Until now, a marathon or a triathlon afforded the spectator only a momentary view of their athlete during the long hours of the event. With the launch of MyAthlete, the spectator, at home or on the race course can be with the athlete every step of the way. MyAthlete makes the long duration event into a spectator sport!
John Brennan, the president of My Athlete, is also exited to announce that Team Hoyt, the famous father and son team of Dick and Rick Hoyt, will be using MyAthlete so that supporters around the world can be a part of their progress real-time every step along the entire course of the Boston marathon. After months of prototype testing and working with the engineers of GTX Corp (OTCBB:GTXO) the anticipation level is also running very high for everyone else associated with MyAthlete’s development, spanning investors, engineers, athletes testing the units, and various racing organizations eager to see this beta production unit in its’ debut and performance in real conditions prior to adopting it for their events.
These first generation beta production units will be available at no charge to a limited group of athletes competing in the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 21st, 2008. Final production units will be available late Q2 as rentals or outright purchases from the www.MyAthlete.biz web site or from the MyAthlete booths at select sport expos prior to the athletic events. Runners interested in seeing and using the beta production MyAthlete for the Boston Marathon are invited to visit Booth 305 at the John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo running Friday, April 18th through Sunday, April 20th. A list of additional expos that will be attended by MyAthlete will be posted on its’ web site.
MyAthlete is lightweight, water resistant, easy to use, self-contained and designed to be worn on a race belt. Being internet based, it does not require any program installation to operate and will automatically download data in real time. The real-time live tracking location can be viewed on the www.MyAthlete.biz web site upon entering the athlete’s User Name and Password provided by the athlete to viewers of their choice. Viewers can access the website at home or on the race course via any web enabled cell phone, iPhone, PDA such as a Blackberry or Treo and any laptop and desktop computer.
