Andrew Evans, National Chairman of the Modern Whig Party, says, "We are very proud of the hard work and sacrifice that our Michigan members have put into organizing and moving the Michigan party forward in order to better serve the people of Michigan. The goal of the Michigan party and all of the Whigs are to empower citizens and engage with them to work for the most effective solutions to issue, and to do so with integrity in all things."

The Whig Party was established in 1833 and was the original party of Abraham Lincoln and four other U.S. Presidents. Revived in 2007 by Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans who were disappointed with what they found upon their return, this grassroots movement has quickly attracted tens of thousands of new members. It represents politically moderate and independent-minded voters from all walks of life that are committed to finding pragmatic solutions to the problems facing our country by putting methodology above ideology and using rational thinking instead of partisan dogma.
