mod.skin labs, a luxury organic skin care line, has formed an exclusive relationship with a leading nonprofit, savenature.org, to execute four unique projects. 10% of all mod.skin products purchased will fund restorative efforts to protect sea, land, and instill harmony throughout.
1. Wildlife Education- San Francisco, California
Grant funding will offer scholarship in the name of mod.skin labs to SaveNature.org and its Insect Discovery. Funds will create 60 new scholarships that will instill the basic tenets of biological literacy that are essential for all children as they grow to adulthood. Scholarship will be provided to 25-30 schools within the seven counties of the greater San Francisco Bay Area, reaching 1800-2100 students.
2. Leatherback Turtle Protection- Florida and the Atlantic
Funding, in part, from mod.skin labs will support acquisition of 3,200 acres of nesting site habitat adjacent to the Gandoca/Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge, Costa Rica and provide technical training to marine conservation research fellow.
3. Neotropical Bird Migration- Texas, California, and South America
Funding from mod.skin labs would support habitat acquisition, protection, monitoring, and research of California’s threatened avian neotropical migrants like the Scarlet Tanager, Yellow Billed Cuckoo, and Elegant Tern in Guanacaste Conservation Area in Costa Rica.
4. Coral Reef Preservation- Micronesia, South Pacific
Funding from mod.skin labs will assist in the protection of sea turtles, dugongs, giant clams, 600 species of corals, 1400 species of fish and the installation of mooring buoys to protect reefs from anchor damage. Additionally, “floating ranger stations” will be supported through mod.skin labs donations to protect grouper spawning areas.
