Northwind Records' recording artist Mike Aiken is a songwriter/artist known for his signature blend of Americana, Country and Roots that has garnered him #1 hits in the U.S. and Europe. Aiken's last full-length album, Hula Girl Highway, was certified as an IAIRA International #1 record. In 2011 Mike was honored by Sports Illustrated Magazine for writing one of the top sports songs of all time, "Chesapeake," which is a tribute to sailing. His song "Chesapeake" earned him this honor for its tribute to the nautical lifestyle for which Aiken is known. Between performances Mike is writing new songs, recording and working on his philanthropic projects that include both the annual Aiken & Friends Fest that benefits youth music education as well as the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race that benefits environmental concerns. Aiken is currently working on his 6th CD, Captains & Cowboys, slated for release in March 2013.
